Help for carers

Carers Voice

Carers' Voice is a panel made up of carers who provide feedback, opinions and thoughts on today's issues for carers. It is led by our Participation Officer, Claire Abrahams. There are a number of different ways you can get involved as a Carer Voice.

As a carer, you are the best person to tell us how you feel about services we offer and how other providers are doing. We want you to have the opportunity to influence how those services are delivered.

Involvement Tailored for You

We understand that as well as your caring role, you may have other commitments suchas work, family and friends. That is why we want you to be able to have your say in a way that suits you. We have developed a menu of options for you to choose from, which you can change at any time.

Carers Point

This option could be for you if you have very limited time or are unable to come to meetings. As a Carers Point member you will be contacted on occasion to give your opinion on changes to the services you receive. This might be by phone, email or social media.

Carer Support Groups

Many people find support groups helpful, whether to meet people in similar situations or to have a break. We will sometimes attend support groups to gather your views and feedback.

Carers Voice Panel

This group will be active in ensuring carers’ voices are heard within the Carers’ Centre and other service providers. The panel will meet on a bi-monthly basis and work to an annual plan. This would be ideal for carers who have more time, and are confident in attending meetings.
