Activities for young carers

Fun activities

We arrange activities every holiday to give you a chance to have loads of laughs and fun with other young people that look after someone. We change these activities each holiday based on requests from the young people we support. We've done activities like laser tag; toboganning; circus skills; cooking; crafts; survival skills and more!

If you join The Carers' Centre, your parent/carer will be sent information on the activities you can come to before each holiday so you can decide what you might like to do. We can't guarantee you can attend every activity you would like to, but we always try and make sure you can attend at least one.

Activities

Who can access our activities?

Any young person who has joined the Carers' Centre can come on our activities! Our activities are extremely popular, so you may not be able to attend every activity but we will ensure you can access as many as possible.

Frequently asked questions

Here's some answer to common questions about our activities.

Of course! It can be a little worrying when you don't know anyone. Our staff will provide a friendly face and will introduce you to the other people on the activity. They will all be about your age, and many great friendships have been made on activities with us. You may even see people you know from your school!

Please ask your parent/carer to let us know as soon as you realise you cannot make an activity and, where possible, with at least 48 hours notice before the start of the activity. We will then be able to offer your place to another young person. You can contact us on info@banescarerscentre.org.uk or ring 0800 0388 885

Don't worry! We know this can happen from time to time. We would ask that your parent/carer rings us on 0800 0388 885 to let us know you are running late. This will just ensure we do not worry about you.

For day trips, there is a chance we may not be able to hold up the coach, depending on how delayed you are, but we will always do our best to ensure you can make the activity.

Our activities are sent out to parents in advance of each school holiday. This will ensure you can see what activities you are able to access and choose which you'd like to come to.

You will be able to register interest in these activities online, and will then be contacted about which we are able to offer you a place on.
