If you look after someone, we are here for you. By joining The Carers’ Centre you’ll meet people who understand what you’re going through, and will listen to you. You will also gain access to a range of fantastic and free services to support you.   

Our Freephone Support Line

Whether you’ve just recognised yourself as a carer or have been supporting someone over many years, our Freephone Support Line is open to all, wherever you are in your caring journey. 

We're also on hand to advise professionals working with carers, and anyone that is worried about someone with caring responsibilities. 

We're here to listen

We recognise all that you’re doing to help the person you care for get the most out of life. Looking after someone can be a rewarding experience, but it can also be very challenging and impact many areas of your life.

Whether you need focused practical advice or the space to offload, we’re here to listen. Our Freephone Support Line offers free support and advice to anyone with a question relating to caring. We're here every weekday from 9am - 1pm.

One-to-one support for you

Our friendly team are on hand to:

  • Help you take a breath, explore your specific challenges with caring and find solutions in a one-to-one support planning session
  • Support you to put a care plan in place for the person you care for
  • Give you information and advice about caring 
  • Offer a listening ear and emotional support 
  • Help you find out the financial support you may be entitled to 
  • Help you understand your rights as a carer 
  • Offer techniques and resources to look after your health and wellbeing

Here's some answer to common questions about our Freephone Support Line.

We're sorry if you're unable to get through, sometimes our lines can be very busy. You will be able to leave a voicemail with your contact details and we will respond to your message as soon as we can. (Please allow up to three working days). You can also email us on support@banescarerscentre.org.uk

Out of our opening hours you are welcome to leave a message with us or email support@banescarerscentre.org.uk

On evenings, weekends and bank holidays, for support with urgent caring issues you can phone the Emergency Duty Social Work Team on 01454 615 165.

If there is immediate danger always phone the police on 999. The non-urgent police number is 101.

We will never sell your personal data, and will only ever share it with organisations we work with where necessary and if its privacy and security are guaranteed.

If you request that we refer you to a third party organisation we will only undertake this with your permission.

Under our agreement with HCRG Care Group, acting on behalf Bath and North East Somerset Council, we are required to share personal information (name, address, age, address, ethnic background, religious beliefs) for carers accessing information, advice support services.

Under our agreement with Bath and North East Somerset Council, we will share personal information (name, date of birth, postcode) of children accessing our young carers services.

Statutory carers assessments are undertaken by the Social Care Team at HCRG Care Group. They can be contacted on 0300 2470201, option 2 (weekdays, 8.30am-5pm, except Fridays when they close at 4.30pm)
