Volunteer opportunities

Whether you can give the odd hour here or there, or can commit to a more regular role, there are many opportunities to get involved with The Carers’ Centre.

We are continuing to grow our team of Volunteer Carer Champions across the whole of Bath & North East Somerset.

The aim of the Volunteer Carer Champions is to raise awareness about The Carers’ Centre within their local community.

As part of a team of Carer Champions you will be the eyes and ears in the community for The Carers’ Centre raising awareness through attending community events, sharing information and engaging community venues and groups.

Maintain, develop and protect carers’ community garden at Woodlands so that it can be enjoyed by everyone.

You will work as part of a team of garden volunteers, you will be helping with the upkeep of the garden through general tidying, weeding, pruning, planting, grass cutting and propagating. You’ll be a friendly face to those enjoying the garden, able to commit a minimum of 4 hours a month and enjoy working outside and the odd tea and cake break!

Have a skill to share, or experience in facilitation? Help someone take a meaningful break from their caring role and deliver a creative workshop or Carer Café.  

Help make a real difference to our small (but mighty!) charity. From taking care of our beautiful garden to dealing with enquiries, we have lots of ways you can support our work. 

Do you have experience of caring? Ensure unpaid carers are seen and heard. Join the Carers’ Voice community to ensure local services and decision-makers bring about real change for carers. Find out more. 

Support the young carer’s service to run a full breaks programme throughout the year including activities, days out, evening clubs and weekend breaks. As a volunteer you will be joining in with activities, helping children to be involved and included and supporting children who may need additional support during an activity. Most importantly you'll be encouraging the children to have fun and enjoy themselves. 

You will also help with practical tasks such as: register taking, preparing, and cleaning up, handing out equipment etc. Supporting children to be safe whilst an activity.
