Volunteer Qualities

All volunteers for the Carers’ Centre must be over the age of 18, and as they will be working with vulnerable people, will need to undertake an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check, paid for by the Centre.

Volunteer drivers play an essential part in helping carers to have a break and must have a full UK driving licence and appropriate insurance.

People who have caring experience are valuable to the Centre as they have a clear understanding of the issues faced by carers. However, volunteers from all kinds of backgrounds can help.

The Centre is always looking for volunteers with specialist skills in areas such as counselling, holistic therapies, computers, IT and general administration.
